It’s that time of the year again, you know, new year new me kind of time. Looking back over the past 12 months, I’ve had to pinch myself on how blessed I’ve been. If I had to describe my 2014 in one word, it would be “change”. A lot has happened and things are a lot different now than they were when this year started.
It’s been an eventful year for me, full of great activities and adventures. In no particular order, here are some of my highlights:
Graduating with my BA Psychology Degree was an amazing achievement for me. Having my parents, sister and granny with me made this day more special. My family arranged a surprise graduation party for me. I love being able to spend time with my family, talking and eating great food!
My marriage on June 14, was the most memorable day. It’s been the best 6 months of my life and I could not have asked for a better husband. Thank you Amraj for choosing me to be your wife.
Globetrotting of cause! My trip to UAE and the UK. Travelling really leaves you speechless and then turns you into a storyteller. I am so grateful for the opportunity to see the world. Starting a new life abroad isn’t easy but I’m enjoying every minute of it.
My amazing husband, is definately my biggest highlight. He has laughed with me, wiped my tears, hugged me tight and kept me strong. He has been my biggest support throughout this life transition. My husband is my best friend and a gift from Allah xxx
Starting a blog, oh my word, thank you for reading it, without my viewers it would not have been possible. Thank you to Raeesah and Radzeeyah for encouraging me to rant about my life! Keep surrounding yourself with people who lift you higher xxx
Let me not forget to mention moving into a commune!!!! Greatest experience ever!!! The friends I made are forever, the memories we made will never be forgotten and the time we spent together… priceless…
My favourite gadgets of 2014 must be my Huawei P7, my Polaroid and my Galaxy Tab S!!! Hopefully 2015 brings me a “GoPro” I’ve had tons of fun playing around with these gadgets thank you to the men in my life who gifted me with these toys! Love you xxx
Being able to watch a Chelsea match live with my hubby boo boo xxx
Leaving SA for the first time in my life had its mixed emotions, leaving everything behind was challenging but without that step I would not have had the incredible year I’ve had, with all its many lessons and blessings. Thanking SA for the 23 years xxx
Oh my cuteness, the birth of my baby brother Raa’id, the first time I kept him in my arms was definately love at first sight. I am a sucker for my siblings, so blessed to have so many little minions!!!
My hobby, Sew and stitch, I’ve had so much fun collecting each edition and piecing together each block, still far away from completing my quilt but will hopefully be completed in the new year.
And definately 22 jump street is down as the best movie of this year!!! I hired an entire theatre (just joking) but my brother and I were sole alone in the cinema, which was perfect because we got to stretch out and laugh as loud as we wanted too 😂
With that all being said, it’s more important to appreciate the passed year than make new year resolutions, because after all knowledge is in the end based on acknowledgement. Life is all about learning.
I did however piece together a little list of my own, just because you know, everyone does!
My New Year’s Resolutions
1. Be more patient
2. Drink more water
3. Save more money
Apparently, this gets all forgetton by the time Valentines Day arrives! So, this little list will be typed out, framed and placed next to my bedside too make sure I do not forget! Pretty handy, don’t you think?
I’ve had fun sharing my exploits with all of my readers, wishing you all peace and love. May all your wishes and dreams come true.
May your new year sparkle and shine
