Hey,
Nabiha and I went on another adventure. Today we went to the Sheraton Park where we met up with other mums in Doha and their beautiful babies for a peaceful picnic in the park. As usual I wasn’t on time because as usual my GPS got lost and then I couldn’t find a parking space – oh well, but I made it in the end and that’s the important part. Let me just say I was ridiculously excited about this outing because I really, really love the outdoors! It made for a pleasant change to just sit outside on the grass under a shady tree and get some much needed sunlight. Something I really miss about South Africa. I met so many wonderful ladies as well from all over the world and that’s what I love about being a expat. When we arrived Nabiha was still sleeping so it gave me some time to socialise but it was short lived because not too long into our chats she woke up and needed to feed! Oh gosh, I was dreading this, but thankfully there were so many experienced mums to assist and help me. It wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. So, that marked my first time nursing in public. During her first feed she pooped and all over herself too! I had to stop mid feed to clean her up – joys of being a mummy. And this was my first time changing her in public too! After a lot of talking I was hungry. There was a Costa nearby and I went for a lovely walk with two of the mums to get some much needed coffee, water and sandwiches. Nabiha stayed a sleep for the most part which allowed me to enjoy my little lunch and coffee hot. I’m sure she had a lovely time because she didn’t give me any trouble. After a good few hours of socialising and having “too much” of a good time, being a new mum and all, it was time to call it a day. I packed up all our stuff, took my little girl, put her into her car seat, fought with the pram, eventually got that thing folded and packed into the boot of the car and made my way home. Next time I would really like to take a walk along the famous waterfront promenade.
Here are a few pictures of our lovely morning spent in the park:

Ah, look at me being all grown and adulting!
You can look but don’t touch! On a serious sugar diet – me I mean.
There’s a lovely area for children to play.
Chilled and in deep thought after her feed and clothing change.

Short lived sleep in her buggy!
Beautiful view of the trees and sea.
If you are still reading my blog, thanks! I am excited to bring you many more fun adventures with my little girl.
Keep well and keep smiling,
Fazeelah

It sounds like a lovely day out in glad you have a good experience. I actually read somewhere that taking your baby out and about at a young age really affects their brain development in a lot of way.

I find the park you had the picnic in very interesting. I have never been in a pack surrounded by skyscrapers. It must feel amazing. It’s great that your little girl enjoyed the picnic too and slept peacefully.

what a beautiful baby girl you have, so sweet – I had to chuckle at her hair, you got lucky, my son was bald until almost 2 years of age, we always joked about him needing Baby Rogaine, lol. Now his hair is longer than mine – blessings to you and your little one!

Yes. Because it can get really hot here in summer. Play areas are covered for that reason.
